أَخْبَرَنا مَالِكٌ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ: " أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَدِمَ الْكُوفَةَ عَلَى سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُهَا، فَرَآهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: سَلْ أَبَاكَ إِذَا قَدِمْتَ عَلَيْهِ، فَنَسِيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَسْأَلَهُ حَتَّى قَدِمَ سَعْدٌ، فَقَالَ: أَسَأَلْتَ أَبَاكَ؟ فَقَالَ: لا، فَسَأَلَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ: إِذَا أَدْخَلْتَ رِجْلَيْكَ فِي الْخُفَّيْنِ وَهُمَا طَاهِرَتَانِ فَامْسَحْ عَلَيْهِمَا، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: وَإِنْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ؟ قَالَ: وَإِنْ جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ "

Malik informed us, Nafi' and 'Abdullah bin Dinar narrated to us: That 'Abdullah bin 'Umar arrived in Kufa to visit Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas while he was its governor. 'Abdullah saw him wiping over the leather socks, so he disapproved of that. Sa'd said to him: "Ask your father when you return to him." 'Abdullah forgot to ask him until Sa'd arrived [at their location]. Sa'd said: "Did you ask your father?" He said: "No." So 'Abdullah asked him, and he said: "If you have inserted your feet into the leather socks while they are both pure, then wipe over them." 'Abdullah said: "Even if one has come from the place of defecation?" He replied: "Even if one of you has come from the place of defecation."
Na njoftoi Maliku, na treguan Nafiu dhe Abdullah bin Dinari: Se Abdullah bin Umari erdhi në Kufe te Sad bin Ebi Vekkasi, kur ai ishte guvernator i saj. Abdullahu e pa atë duke u dhënë mes-h mesteve (këpucëve prej lëkure), prandaj ai e kundërshtoi këtë veprim. Sadi i tha: "Pyete babanë tënd kur të kthehesh tek ai." Abdullahu harroi ta pyeste derisa erdhi Sadi, i cili e pyeti: "A e pyete babanë tënd?" Ai u përgjigj: "Jo." Atëherë Abdullahu e pyeti atë (Umarin), i cili i tha: "Nëse i fut këmbët në meste ndërsa ato janë të pastra, atëherë jepu mes-h atyre." Abdullahu tha: "Edhe nëse dikush vjen pas kryerjes së nevojës?"
