أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُعَاوِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: رَآنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَأَنَا أَعْبَثُ بِالْحَصَى فِي الصَّلاةِ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْتُ نَهَانِي، وَقَالَ: اصْنَعْ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ، فَقُلْتُ: كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الصَّلاةِ وَضَعَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُمْنَى، وَقَبَضَ أَصَابِعَهُ كُلَّهَا، وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ الَّتِي تَلِي الإِبْهَامَ، وَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُسْرَى» .

Malik informed us, Muslim bin Abi Maryam informed us, from 'Ali bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Mu'awi, that he said: 'Abdullah bin 'Umar saw me playing with pebbles during the prayer, so when I finished, he forbade me and said: "Do as the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to do." I said: "How did the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) use to do?" He said: "When the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) sat during the prayer, he would place his right palm on his right thigh, clench all his fingers, and point with his finger which follows the thumb, and place his left palm on his left thigh."
Na tregoi Maliku, na tregoi Muslim bin Ebi Merjem, nga Ali bin Abdurrahman el-Muavi, se ai ka thënë: Më pa Abdullah bin Umeri kur unë po luaja me guralecë gjatë namazit, dhe pasi përfundova, ai më ndaloi e tha: "Vepro ashtu siç vepronte i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.)". Unë i thashë: "Si vepronte i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.)?". Ai tha: "Kur i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) ulej në namaz, e vendoste shuplakën e tij të djathtë mbi kofshën e tij të djathtë, i mblidhte të gjithë gishtat e tij dhe bënte shenjë me gishtin që vjen pas gishtit të madh, ndërsa shuplakën e tij të majtë e vendoste mbi kofshën e tij të majtë."
