#420 Malik informed us, Zayd bin Aslam informed us, from Ibrahim ibn 'Abdullah bin Hunayn, from his father, that 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas and al-Miswar bin Makhramah disagreed at al-Abwa'. Ibn 'Abbas said: "A person in the state of Ihram may wash his head," and al-Miswar said: "No." So Ibn 'Abbas sent him to Abu Ayyub to ask him. He found him bathing between the two wooden posts while he was being screened by a garment. He said: So I greeted him, and he asked: "Who is this?" I replied: "I am 'Abdullah bin Hunayn; Ibn 'Abbas has sent me to you to ask you how the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to wash his head while he was in the state of Ihram." Thereupon, he placed his hands on the garment and lowered it until his head became visible to me, then he said to a person who was pouring water over him: "Pour." So he poured water over his head, then he moved his head with his hands, bringing them forward and backward, and said: "This is how I saw him doing it."
