#2241 2241 - Zayd ibn Akhram Abu Talib al-Ta'i narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from Salih ibn Kaysan, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'A'ishah, who said: The Muslims used to be eager to go out for military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), and they would hand over their keys to their deputies and say to them: "We have made it lawful for you to eat what you wish." But they [the deputies] would say: "It is not lawful for us, for they have only granted permission without genuine willingness of heart." Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed: {There is no blame upon the blind nor any blame upon the lame nor any blame upon the sick nor upon yourselves that you eat from your [own] houses, or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your paternal uncles, or the houses of your paternal aunts} [An-Nur: 61] until His saying: {or [from houses] whose keys you possess} [An-Nur: 61].
