#2374 2374 - Ibrahim ibn Isma'il ibn Yahya ibn Salama ibn Kuhayl narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from his uncle Muhammad ibn Salama ibn Kuhayl, from Salama ibn Kuhayl, from 'Abdullah ibn Shaddad ibn al-Had, from Dihyah al-Kalbi, that he said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) sent me with a letter to Caesar. I arrived before him and gave him the letter. With him was a nephew of his who was ruddy-complexioned, blue-eyed, and had straight hair. When he read the letter, it contained: "From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Heraclius, the Master of Rome." He said: His nephew snorted and said: "Do not read this today." Caesar asked him: "Why?" He replied: "He started with himself, and he wrote 'Master of Rome' and did not write 'King of Rome'." Caesar said: "You shall certainly read it." When he read the letter and they exited from his presence, he brought me in to see him and sent for the Bishop—who was the leader of their affairs—and informed him of the news and had him read the letter. The Bishop said to him: "This is the one we have been waiting for, and whom Jesus gave us glad tidings of." Caesar asked him: "What do you command me?" The Bishop said to him: "As for me, I believe him and follow him." Caesar said to him: "As for me, if I were to do that, my kingdom would vanish." Then we exited from his presence. Caesar then sent for Abu Sufyan, who was with him on that day, and said: "Tell me about this man who has emerged in your land; what is he?" He said: "A young man." He asked: "How is his lineage among you?" He replied: "He is of noble lineage among us; no one excels him in lineage." He said: "This is a sign of Prophethood." He asked: "How is his truthfulness?" He replied: "He has never lied." He said: "This is a sign of Prophethood." He asked: "Have you seen those of his companions who come to you, do they return to him?" He replied: "Yes." He said: "This is a sign of Prophethood." He asked: "Is he ever afflicted with setbacks when he and his companions fight?" He replied: "A people have fought him; he defeated them and they defeated him." He said: "This is a sign of Prophethood." He said: Then he called [for a messenger] and said: "Convey to your companion that I know he is a Prophet, but I will not abandon my kingdom." He said: As for the Bishop, they used to gather around him every Sunday, and he would come out to them, speak to them, and remind them. When it was Sunday, he did not come out to them and remained inside until the following Sunday. I used to enter upon him, and he would speak to me and ask me questions. When the next Sunday came, they waited for him to come out to them, but he did not come out and excused himself to them due to illness. He did this several times. They sent to him: "Either you come out to us, or we shall enter upon you and kill you, for we have disapproved of your conduct since this Arab arrived." The Bishop said: "Take this letter, go to your companion, convey the greetings of peace (Salam) to him, and inform him that I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and that I have believed in him, affirmed his truth, and followed him, and that they have disapproved of this from me; so convey to him what you see." Then he went out to them and they killed him. Then Dihyah returned to the Prophet (pbuh) while the messengers of Chosroes' deputies over Sana'a were with him, having been sent to him. He [Chosroes] had written to the governor of Sana'a threatening him, saying: "Either deal with this man who has emerged in your land calling me to his religion, or I shall pay tribute (Jizya), or I shall kill you, or I shall do such-and-such to you." So the governor of Sana'a sent fifteen men to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). Dihyah found them with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). When he read their master's letter, he hosted them for fifteen nights. When fifteen nights had passed, they presented themselves to him. When he saw them, he called them and said: "Go to your master and tell him: 'My Lord has killed his lord tonight'." They departed and informed him of what he had done. He said: "Record this night." He then asked: "Tell me how you saw him." They said: "We have never seen a ruler more composed than him; he walks among them fearing nothing, humble and without guards, and they do not raise their voices in his presence." Dihyah said: Then the news arrived that Chosroes had been killed that very night.

٢٣٧٤ - Na tregoi Ibrahim ibn Isma'il ibn Jahja ibn Seleme ibn Kuhejl, më tregoi babai im, nga xhaxhai i tij Muhamed ibn Seleme ibn Kuhejl, nga Seleme ibn Kuhejl, nga Abdullah ibn Shedad ibn el-Had, nga Dihje el-Kelbi, i cili ka thënë: I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) më dërgoi me një letër te Cezari. Cezari tha: Do ta lexosh patjetër. Ai pyeti: A i keni parë ata shokë të tij që vijnë te ju, a kthehen sërish tek ai? Ai u përgjigj: Po. Ai tha: Kjo është shenjë e profecisë. Ai pyeti: A pëson ai ndonjëherë humbje kur lufton ai dhe shokët e tij? Kështu, prijësi i San'as dërgoi pesëmbëdhjetë burra te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.). Dihja i gjeti ata te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.).
