#2662 2662 - Amr ibn Ali narrated to us, Khallad ibn Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman Abu Ghirarah, the husband of Jabrah, narrated to us, Urwah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to me, saying: I said to Aisha: "I contemplate your state and I am amazed; I find you to be among the most juristically learned of people, and I said to myself: What would prevent her, being the wife of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and the daughter of Abu Bakr? And I find you knowledgeable of the historical days of the Arabs, their lineages, and their poetry, and I said: What would prevent her, when her father was the preeminent scholar of Quraysh? But I am amazed that I find you knowledgeable in medicine; from where did that come?" She took my hand and said: "O 'Urayyah, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) suffered from frequent ailments, and the physicians of the Arabs and the non-Arabs used to send prescriptions for him, and I learned that from them."
