#4533 4533 - From Abdullah bin Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "Hands are of three types: the hand of Allah is the highest, the hand of the giver is the one that follows it, and the hand of the solicitor is the lowest." Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Ya'la, and he added: "And the hand of the solicitor is the lowest until the Day of Resurrection. So practice self-restraint against begging and against asking as much as you are able. For if you are given something—or he said: something good—then let it be seen upon you. Begin with those whom you support, and give from the surplus, and you shall not be blamed for maintaining self-restraint."
