Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Hammad bin Zejdi, nga Ejubi, nga Ebu Kilabe, se Ebu Thalebe ka thënë:
«Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.), unë e lëshoj qenin tim dhe ai e zë gjahun? Ai tha: "Nëse e lëshon qenin tënd të stërvitur dhe përmend emrin e Allahut, e ai e zë (gjahun), atëherë haje. E nëse e lëshon qenin tënd që nuk është i stërvitur dhe ai e zë, nëse arrin ta therrësh, atëherë haje, por nëse nuk arrin ta therrësh, mos e ha".»

- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ،
عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ:
«قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أُرْسِلُ كَلْبِي فَيَأْخُذُ
الصَّيْدَ؟ قَالَ: إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ الْمُعَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتَ
اسْمَ اللهِ فَأَخَذَ فَكُلْ، وَإِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ الَّذِي لَيْسَ
بِمُعَلَّمٍ فَأَخَذَ فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ ذَكَاتَهُ فَكُلْ، وَإِنْ لَمْ
تُدْرِكْ ذَكَاتَهُ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ».
1108 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Qilabah that Abu Tha'labah said:
"I said: O Messenger of Allah (saw), I send my dog and it catches the game?"
He said: "If you send your trained dog and mention the name of Allah, and it catches [it], then eat. And if you send your dog that is not trained and it catches [it], then if you reach it [while it is still alive] to perform the ritual slaughter, then eat; but if you do not reach it [in time] to perform the ritual slaughter, then do not eat."
