1268 - Na ka treguar Junusi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Hishami, nga Jahja bin Ebi Kethiri, nga Ebu Seleme, i cili ka thënë: Më ka treguar Rebi'a bin Ka'b el-Eslemiu, i cili ka thënë:
«Kalova natën te Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) dhe i sillja ujë për abdest gjatë natës. E dëgjoja atë për një kohë të gjatë të natës duke thënë: 'Semiallahu limen hamideh' (Allahu e dëgjon atë që e lavdëron Atë), dhe e dëgjoja atë për një kohë të gjatë të natës duke thënë: 'Elhamdulilahi Rabbil-alemin' (Lavdërimi i takon Allahut, Zotit të botëve).»
١٢٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، قَالَ: «بِتُّ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ - فَكُنْتُ أُنَاوِلُهُ الْوَضُوءَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَأَسْمَعُهُ الْهَوِيَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، وَأَسْمَعُهُ الْهَوِيَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَقُولُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِ الْعَالَمِينَ».
1268 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Hisham narrated to us, from Yahya bin Abi Kathir, from Abu Salama, who said: Rabi'ah bin Ka'b al-Aslami narrated to me, he said:
'I spent the night with the Prophet (pbuh), and I used to bring him his water for ablution at night. I would hear him for a long period of the night saying: "Allah hears whoever praises Him," and I would hear him for a long period of the night saying: "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds."'

- Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar el-Mubarek bin Fedale, nga Ebu Imran el-Xhevni, nga Rebi'a bin Ke'bi, i cili ka thënë: «I shërbeja Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.), dhe një ditë ai më tha: O Rebi'a, a nuk do të martohesh? Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, pasha Allahun, nuk kam asgjë me çfarë të mbaj një grua, dhe nuk dëshiroj që asgjë të më shpërndajë vëmendjen nga shërbimi ndaj teje. Pastaj më tha një ditë tjetër: O Rebi'a, a nuk do të martohesh? I thashë të njëjtën gjë. Ai tha: Pastaj thashë me vete: Pasha Allahun, i Dërguari i Allahut e di më mirë se unë se çfarë është e dobishme për mua në çështjet e kësaj bote dhe të ahiretit. Pasha Allahun, nëse i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) ma thotë për të tretën herë, do të them po. Dhe ai ma tha për të tretën herë: O Rebi'a, a nuk do të martohesh? Tha: Thashë: Le të bëjë i Dërguari i Allahut çfarë të dëshirojë. Atëherë ai tha: Shko te familja e filanit - njerëz nga Ensarët - dhe u thuaj: I Dërguari i Allahut më ka dërguar, ju dërgon selam dhe ju urdhëron që të më martoni me filanen. Shkova tek ata dhe u thashë: I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) ju urdhëron që të më martoni me filanen. Ata thanë: Mirë se vjen i Dërguari i Allahut dhe i dërguari i të Dërguarit të Allahut! Pasha Allahun, i dërguari i të Dërguarit të Allahut nuk do të kthehet sot pa e kryer nevojën e tij. Tha: Më martuan dhe më nderuan. Pastaj shkova te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) dhe ai më pa të vrenjtur e të trishtuar, e më tha: Çfarë ke, o Rebi'a? Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, shkova te njerëz bujarë, më nderuan dhe më martuan, por nuk kam asgjë që t'ua dërgoj (si mehër)! Atëherë i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) tha: O Burejde el-Eslemi, mblidhni për të peshën e një bërthame prej ari. Më mblodhën aq, dhe ai tha: Shko me këtë tek ata. Shkova tek ata, e pranuan prej meje dhe u gëzuan. Pastaj shkova te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) dhe ai më pa të vrenjtur, e më tha: Çfarë ke, o Rebi'a? Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, shkova te njerëz bujarë, e pranuan atë prej meje dhe u gëzuan, por nuk kam asgjë për të bërë dasmën (velimen)! Ai tha: O Burejde, mblidhni për të vlerën e një dashi. Mblodhën për mua vlerën e një dashi të madh. Pastaj tha: Shko te Aisheja dhe i thuaj: I Dërguari i Allahut të thotë: Jepja atij atë ushqimin. Shkova tek ajo dhe ajo tha: Merre këtë kosh, pasha Allahun nuk kemi tjetër përveç tij. Tha: E mora dhe shkova te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.), e ai tha: Shko me këtë tek ata, që kjo të përgatitet te ata si bukë dhe ky (mishi) të piqet te ata. Shkova tek ata me këto, e ata thanë: Sa i përket bukës, ne do të kujdesemi për të, kurse ju kujdesuni për mishin. Shkova me dashin te disa shokë të mi, bashkëpunuam për të dhe e përfunduam. Shkova me të dhe bëra dasmën, ftova të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.) dhe ai m'u përgjigj (erdhi).»
١٢٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، قَالَ: «كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ: يَا رَبِيعَةُ، أَلَا تَتَزَوَّجُ؟، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَاللهِ مَا عِنْدِي مَا يُقِيمُ امْرَأَةً، وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَشْغَلَنِي عَنْ خِدْمَتِكَ شَيْءٌ. ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي يَوْمًا آخَرَ: يَا رَبِيعَةُ، أَلَا تَتَزَوَّجُ؟، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي: وَاللهِ لَرَسُولُ اللهِ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُصْلِحُنِي مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي مِنِّي، وَاللهِ لَئِنْ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ - الثَّالِثَةَ لَأَقُولَنَّ نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ لِيَ الثَّالِثَةَ: يَا رَبِيعَةُ، أَلَا تَزَوَّجُ؟، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لِيَصْنَعْ رَسُولُ اللهِ مَا شَاءَ، فَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ إِلَى آلِ فُلَانٍ - نَاسٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ - فَقُلْ: رَسُولُ اللهِ أَرْسَلَنِي يُقْرِئُ السَّلَامَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُزَوِّجُونِي فُلَانَةً، فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُزَوِّجُونِي فُلَانَةً. فَقَالُوا: مَرْحَبًا بِرَسُولِ اللهِ وَبِرَسُولِ رَسُولِ اللهِ، وَاللهِ لَا يَرْجِعُ رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللهِ الْيَوْمَ إِلَّا بِحَاجَتِهِ. قَالَ: فَزَوَّجُونِي وَأَكْرَمُونِي، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - فَرَآنِي كَئِيبًا حَزِينًا، فَقَالَ: مَا لَكَ يَا رَبِيعَةُ؟ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَتَيْتُ قَوْمًا كِرَامًا فَأَكْرَمُونِي وَزَوَّجُونِي، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا أَسُوقُ! فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا بُرَيْدَةُ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، اجْمَعْ لِي فِي وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَجَمَعَ لِي فِيهَا، فَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ بِهَذَا إِلَيْهِمْ، فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ فَقَبِلُوا ذَلِكَ مِنِّي وَفَرِحُوا، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - فَرَآنِي كَئِيبًا، فَقَالَ: مَا لَكَ يَا رَبِيعَةُ؟، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَتَيْتُ قَوْمًا كِرَامًا فَقَبِلُوا ذَلِكَ مِنِّي وَفَرِحُوا، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا أُولِمُ! قَالَ: يَا بُرَيْدَةُ، اجْمَعُوا لَهُ فِي ثَمَنِ كَبْشٍ، فَجَمَعُوا لِي فِي ثَمَنِ كَبْشٍ عَظِيمٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: ائْتِ عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْ لَهَا يَقُولُ لَكِ رَسُولُ اللهِ: ادْفَعِي إِلَيْهِ ذَاكَ الطَّعَامَ، فَأَتَيْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ: دُونَكَ الْمِكْتَلَ، وَاللهِ مَا عِنْدَنَا غَيْرُهُ. قَالَ: فَأَخَذْتُهُ وَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - فَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ بِهَذَا إِلَيْهِمْ فَلْيُصْلَحْ هَذَا عِنْدَهُمْ خُبْزًا وَلْيُنْضَجْ هَذَا عِنْدَهُمْ لَحْمًا. فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ بِهِ، فَقَالُوا: أَمَّا الْخُبْزُ فَنَحْنُ نَكْفِيكُمُوهُ، وَاكْفُونَا أَنْتُمُ اللَّحْمَ. فَانْطَلَقْتُ بِالْكَبْشِ إِلَى أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي فَتَعَاوَنَّا عَلَيْهِ، فَفَرَغْنَا مِنْهُ، وَانْطَلَقْتُ بِهِ فَأَوْلَمْتُ، فَدَعَوْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ - فَأَجَابَنِي».
1269 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Al-Mubarak ibn Fadalah narrated to us, from Abu Imran al-Jawni, from Rabi'ah ibn Ka'b, who said: "I used to serve the Prophet (saw), and one day he said: 'O Rabi'ah, will you not get married?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I have nothing to maintain a wife with, and I do not wish for anything to distract me from serving you.' Then he said to me on another day: 'O Rabi'ah, will you not get married?' and I said the same to him. Then I said to myself: 'By Allah, the Messenger of Allah knows better than I what is good for me in my worldly affairs and my hereafter. By Allah, if the Messenger of Allah (saw) says it to me a third time, I will certainly say yes.' So he said to me a third time: 'O Rabi'ah, will you not get married?' I said: 'Let the Messenger of Allah do as he wishes.' He said: 'Go to the family of so-and-so' - people from the Ansar - 'and say: The Messenger of Allah has sent me to convey his greetings of peace and he commands you to marry me to so-and-so (their daughter).'

So I went to them and said: 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (saw) commands you to marry me to so-and-so.' They said: 'Welcome to the Messenger of Allah and to the messenger of the Messenger of Allah! By Allah, the messenger of the Messenger of Allah shall not return today except with his need fulfilled.' He said: So they married me and treated me with honor. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and he saw me looking dejected and sad. He said: 'What is the matter with you, O Rabi'ah?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I went to a noble people and they honored me and married me, but I have nothing to give as a dowry!' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'O Buraydah al-Aslami, collect for him the weight of a date-stone of gold.' So he collected it for me, and he (saw) said: 'Go with this to them.'

I went to them and they accepted it from me and were happy. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and he saw me looking dejected. He said: 'What is the matter with you, O Rabi'ah?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I went to a noble people and they accepted that from me and were happy, but I have nothing for the wedding feast (walimah)!' He said: 'O Buraydah, collect for him the price of a ram.' So they collected for me the price of a large ram. Then he said: 'Go to Aisha and say to her: The Messenger of Allah says to you: Give him that food.' So I went to her and she said: 'Take this basket; by Allah, we have nothing else.' He said: So I took it and came to the Messenger of Allah (saw), and he said: 'Go with this to them and let this be prepared as bread by them, and let this meat be cooked by them.'

I went to them with it, and they said: 'As for the bread, we will take care of it for you, and you take care of the meat for us.' So I went with the ram to some of my companions and we helped each other with it until we finished. Then I took it and held the wedding feast, and I invited the Messenger of Allah (saw) and he accepted my invitation."

- Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar El-Mubarek bin Fedale, nga Ebu Imran el-Xheuni, nga Rebi'a bin Ka'b el-Eslemi, i cili ka thënë: «I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) më dha mua një tokë dhe i dha Ebu Bekrit një tokë. Ai tha: Ne patëm një mosmarrëveshje për një degë - domethënë një palmë - dhe unë thashë: Ajo është nga toka ime! Ndërsa Ebu Bekri tha: Ajo është nga toka ime! Ai tha: O Ebu Bekër, a nuk po e sheh? Shiko, a nuk po e sheh? Ajo është nga toka ime! Por ai refuzoi dhe më tha një fjalë për të cilën u pendua, e pastaj tha: O Rebi'a, më thuaj edhe ti mua ashtu siç të thashë unë ty, që të jetë shpagim (kisas)! Tha: Unë i thashë: Jo. Ai tha: Atëherë, për Allahun, unë do të kërkoj ndihmë kundër teje (te Pejgamberi)! Tha: Unë i thashë: Ti! Po. Atëherë ai u nis drejt Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.) dhe unë e ndoqa pas. Disa njerëz nga populli im erdhën dhe thanë: Allahu e mëshiroftë Ebu Bekrin, ai është ai që të tha atë që të tha dhe tani po kërkon ndihmë kundër teje! Ata u nisën me mua, por unë u thashë atyre: A e dini se kush është ky? Ky është Ebu Bekër es-Siddiku, i dyti i të dyve kur ishin në shpellë. Ai po shkon te i Dërguari i Allahut duke qenë i zemëruar, e pastaj i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) do të zemërohet për zemërimin e tij, dhe Allahu i Madhëruar do të zemërohet për zemërimin e të Dërguarit të Tij, e kështu do të shkatërrohet Rebi'a. Kthehuni! I ktheva ata dhe vazhdova rrugën. Ai kishte arritur te Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) para meje dhe i tregoi ngjarjen. Kur erdha unë, ai (s.a.v.s.) më tha: O Rebi'a, çfarë ke ti me Siddikun? Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, ai më tha diçka dhe pastaj më tha: Thuaj edhe ti ashtu siç të thashë unë ty që të jetë shpagim, por unë i thashë: Nuk do të të them ashtu siç më the ti. I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) tha: Po, mos i thuaj ashtu siç të tha ai, por thuaj: Allahu të falët ty, o Ebu Bekër! Atëherë unë thashë: Allahu të falët ty, o Ebu Bekër! Allahu të falët ty, o Ebu Bekër! Tha: Atëherë Ebu Bekri (r.a.) u largua duke qajtur».
١٢٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ: «أَعْطَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ - أَرْضًا وَأَعْطَى أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَرْضًا قَالَ: فَاخْتَلَفْنَا فِي عِذْقٍ - يَعْنِي نَخْلَةً - فَقُلْتُ أَنَا: هِيَ مِنْ أَرْضِي! وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: هِيَ مِنْ أَرْضِي! فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، أَمَا تَرَى؟ انْظُرْ، أَمَا تَرَى؟ إِنَّهَا مِنْ أَرْضِي! فَأَبَى، وَقَالَ لِي كَلِمَةً نَدِمَ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: يَا رَبِيعَةُ، قُلْ لِي مِثْلَ مَا قُلْتُ لَكَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ قِصَاصًا! قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَا. قَالَ: فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ إِذًا لَأَسْتَعْدِيَنَّ عَلَيْكَ! قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنْتَ! نَعَمْ. فَانْطَلَقَ يَؤُمُّ النَّبِيَّ - ﷺ - وَاتَّبَعْتُهُ، وَجَاءَ نَاسٌ مِنْ قَوْمِي، فَقَالَ: يَرْحَمُ اللهُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، هُوَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَكَ مَا قَالَ وَيَسْتَعْدِي عَلَيْكَ! فَانْطَلَقُوا مَعِي، فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ: أَتَدْرُونَ مَنْ هَذَا؟ هَذَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ، ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِي الْغَارِ، يَأْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ، فَيَغْضَبُ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ - لِغَضَبِهِ وَيَغْضَبُ اللهُ ﷿ لِغَضَبِ رَسُولِهِ فَيَهْلِكُ رَبِيعَةُ، ارْجِعُوا! فَرَدَدْتُهُمْ وَانْطَلَقْتُ، وَقَدْ سَبَقَنِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ - فَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا جِئْتُ قَالَ لِي: يَا رَبِيعَةُ، مَا لَكَ وَلِلصِّدِّيقِ؟، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ قَالَ لِي شَيْئًا، وَقَالَ لِي: قُلْ مِثْلَ مَا قُلْتُ لَكَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ قِصَاصًا، فَقُلْتُ: لَا أَقُولُ لَكَ مِثْلَ مَا قُلْتَ لِي، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَجَلْ، فَلَا تَقُلْ لَهُ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لَكَ، وَلَكِنْ قُلْ: يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَكَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، فَقُلْتُ: يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَكَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لَكَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: فَوَلَّى أَبُو بَكْرٍ ﵁ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي».
1270 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Al-Mubarak ibn Fadalah narrated to us, from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, from Rabi'ah ibn Ka'b al-Aslami, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) gave me a piece of land and gave Abu Bakr a piece of land. He said: We disagreed over a palm tree branch—meaning a palm tree. I said: 'It is from my land!' and Abu Bakr said: 'It is from my land!' He said: 'O Abu Bakr, do you not see? Look, do you not see? It is from my land!' But he refused, and he said a word to me that he later regretted. Then he said: 'O Rabi'ah, say to me the same as what I said to you so that it may be retribution (qisas)!' He said: I said: 'No.' He said: So he said: 'By Allah, then I shall certainly seek help against you!' He said: I said: 'You! Yes.'

So he set off heading towards the Prophet (saw) and I followed him. Some people from my tribe came and said: 'May Allah have mercy on Abu Bakr, he is the one who said to you what he said and yet he seeks help against you!' They set off with me, so I said to them: 'Do you know who this is? This is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, the second of the two when they were in the cave. He will come to the Messenger of Allah while he is angry, then the Messenger of Allah (saw) will become angry because of his anger, and Allah (azwj) will become angry because of the anger of His Messenger, and then Rabi'ah will be destroyed! Go back!' So I sent them back and went on.

He had preceded me to the Prophet (saw) and related the story to him. When I arrived, he said to me: 'O Rabi'ah, what is the matter between you and al-Siddiq?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, he said something to me, and then he said to me: "Say the same as what I said to you so that it may be retribution," but I said: "I will not say to you the same as what you said to me."' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Yes, do not say to him the same as what he said to you, but rather say: "May Allah forgive you, O Abu Bakr."' So I said: 'May Allah forgive you, O Abu Bakr; may Allah forgive you, O Abu Bakr.' He said: Then Abu Bakr (ra) turned away while he was weeping."
