6 - Na ka treguar Abu Dawudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Ibn al-Mubaraku, nga Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talha bin Ubaydullah, i cili ka thënë: Më ka njoftuar Isa bin Talha, nga Nëna e Besimtarëve, Aisha r.a., e cila ka thënë:
«Kur Abu Bakri r.a. e kujtonte ditën e Uhudit, qante e pastaj thoshte: "Ajo ishte e tëra dita e Talhës". Pastaj fillonte të tregonte e thoshte: Isha i pari që u kthye (te Pejgamberi) ditën e Uhudit dhe pashë një burrë që luftonte bashkë me të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.) duke e mbrojtur atë - mendoj se ka thënë: duke e ruajtur atë. Tha: Thashë me vete: "Bëhu Talha!", pasi më kishte ikur ajo që më kishte ikur (nga mbrojtja e Pejgamberit). Thashë: "Të jetë një burrë nga populli im, është më e dashur për mua". Ndërkohë, mes meje dhe lindjes ishte një burrë që nuk e njihja, e unë isha më afër të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) se ai, por ai po ecte me një shpejtësi të madhe që unë nuk po e arrija. Kur u afruam, pashë që ai ishte Abu Ubayda bin al-Jarrah. Arritëm te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) të cilit i ishte thyer dhëmbi i katërt (rabaiyah), ishte plagosur në fytyrë dhe i kishin hyrë në faqe dy hallka prej hallkave të përkrenares. I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) tha: "Kujdesuni për shokun tuaj!" - e kishte fjalën për Talhën, i cili po rridhte gjak. Por ai (Abu Ubayda) nuk i kushtoi vëmendje fjalës së tij dhe unë shkova t'ia nxirrja ato (hallkat) nga fytyra e tij, por Abu Ubayda tha: "Të betohem në të drejtën që kam mbi ty, më lër mua!" Kështu e lashë. Ai nuk dëshironte t'i kapte ato me dorë që të mos e lëndonte Pejgamberin (s.a.v.s.), prandaj i kafshoi fort me dhëmbë dhe nxori njërën nga hallkat, por bashkë me hallkën i ra edhe dhëmbi i tij i parë (thaniyah). Unë shkova të bëja atë që bëri ai, por ai tha: "Të betohem në të drejtën që kam mbi ty, më lër mua!" Tha: Ai bëri të njëjtën gjë si herën e parë dhe i ra edhe dhëmbi tjetër i parë bashkë me hallkën. Abu Ubayda u bë njeriu me rënien më të bukur të dhëmbëve (hatman). Pasi u kujdesëm për gjendjen e Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.), shkuam te Talha në një nga ato gropat dhe pamë se ai kishte mbi shtatëdhjetë plaga - pak më shumë ose pak më pak - mes goditjeve me shtizë, shigjetë dhe shpatë, dhe i ishte prerë gishti. Atëherë u kujdesëm për gjendjen e tij».

- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ،
عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ ، قَالَ:
أَخْبَرَنِي عِيسَى بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ ﵂
قَالَتْ: «كَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ﵁ إِذَا ذَكَرَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ بَكَى، ثُمَّ
قَالَ: ذَاكَ كُلُّهُ يَوْمُ طَلْحَةَ، ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ يُحَدِّثُ، قَالَ:
كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ فَاءَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا يُقَاتِلُ
مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ دُونَهُ - وَأُرَاهُ قَالَ: يَحْمِيهِ -، قَالَ:
فَقُلْتُ: كُنْ طَلْحَةَ، حَيْثُ فَاتَنِي مَا فَاتَنِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَكُونُ
رَجُلًا مِنْ قَوْمِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ، وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ
رَجُلٌ لَا أَعْرِفُهُ، وَأَنَا أَقْرَبُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهُ،
وَهُوَ يَخْطِفُ الْمَشْيَ خَطْفًا لَا أَخْطِفُهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ أَبُو
عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ
كُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَتُهُ، وَشُجَّ فِي وَجْهِهِ، وَقَدْ دَخَلَ فِي
وَجْنَتَيْهِ حَلْقَتَانِ مِنْ حِلَقِ الْمِغْفَرِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ
ﷺ: عَلَيْكُمَا صَاحِبَكُمَا، يُرِيدُ طَلْحَةَ، وَقَدْ نَزَفَ، فَلَمْ
يَلْتَفِتْ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ، وَذَهَبْتُ لِأَنْزِعَ ذَاكَ مِنْ وَجْهِهِ،
فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ بِحَقِّي لَمَا
تَرَكْتَنِي، فَتَرَكْتُهُ، فَكَرِهَ أَنْ يَتَنَاوَلَهُمَا بِيَدِهِ،
فَيُؤْذِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَأَزَمَ عَلَيْهِمَا بِفِيهِ فَاسْتَخْرَجَ
إِحْدَى الْحَلْقَتَيْنِ، وَوَقَعَتْ ثَنِيَّتُهُ مَعَ الْحَلْقَةِ،
وَذَهَبْتُ لِأَصْنَعَ مَا صَنَعَ، فَقَالَ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ بِحَقِّي
لَمَا تَرَكْتَنِي، قَالَ: فَفَعَلَ مِثْلَ مَا فَعَلَ فِي الْمَرَّةِ
الْأُولَى فَوَقَعَتْ ثَنِيَّتُهُ الْأُخْرَى مَعَ الْحَلْقَةِ، فَكَانَ
أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ هَتْمًا، فَأَصْلَحْنَا مِنْ
شَأْنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، ثُمَّ أَتَيْنَا طَلْحَةَ فِي بَعْضِ تِلْكَ
الْجِفَارِ فَإِذَا بِهِ بِضْعٌ وَسَبْعُونَ - أَوْ أَقَلُّ أَوْ أَكْثَرُ -
بَيْنَ طَعْنَةٍ وَرَمْيَةٍ وَضَرْبَةٍ، وَإِذَا قَدْ قُطِعَتْ
إِصْبَعُهُ، فَأَصْلَحْنَا مِنْ شَأْنِهِ».
6 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn Yahya ibn Talhah ibn Ubaydullah, he said: Isa ibn Talhah informed me, from the Mother of the Believers Aisha (ra) that she said: "Whenever Abu Bakr (ra) mentioned the Day of Uhud, he would weep and then say: 'That entire day belonged to Talhah.' Then he began to narrate, saying: 'I was the first to return on the Day of Uhud, and I saw a man fighting alongside the Messenger of Allah (saw) in front of him - and I think he said: protecting him.' He said: 'So I said: Let it be Talhah, since I missed what I missed.' He said: 'I said: Let it be a man from my people, for that is more beloved to me. And between me and the east was a man I did not recognize, and I was closer to the Messenger of Allah (saw) than him, yet he was rushing with a speed I could not match. It turned out to be Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah. We reached the Messenger of Allah (saw) and his incisor tooth had been broken, his face had been wounded, and two rings from the chainmail of his helmet had entered his cheeks. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "Attend to your companion," meaning Talhah, who was bleeding profusely. But we did not heed his words. I went to pull those [rings] out of his face, but Abu Ubaydah said: "I adjure you by my right over you to leave it to me." So I left him. He disliked to pull them out with his hand lest he hurt the Prophet (saw), so he bit down on one of the rings with his mouth and pulled it out, and his own incisor tooth fell out with the ring. I went to do what he had done, but he said: "I adjure you by my right over you to leave it to me." He said: So he did the same as he had done the first time, and his other incisor tooth fell out with the second ring. Thus, Abu Ubaydah was among the most handsome of people despite the gap in his teeth. We then attended to the Prophet (saw), then we went to Talhah in one of those hollows, and found that he had seventy-some - or more or less - wounds from stabs, arrows, and sword strikes, and his finger had been cut off. So we attended to him.'"
