2204 - Na tregoi Abde b. Abdilah, na tregoi Ebu Nuajmi, na tregoi Muhamed b.

2204 - Abda ibn Abd Allah narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sharik narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, from 'Ikrima, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: There were people among the inhabitants of Mecca who had accepted Islam, but they were concealing their Islam. When the polytheists went out to Badr, they forced them to go out with them. Some of them were killed on the day of Badr while with the polytheists. The Muslims said: "These companions of ours were Muslims; they were forced out against their will," and they sought forgiveness for them. Then this verse was revealed: "Indeed, those whom the angels take in death while wronging themselves" [An-Nisa: 97], to the end of the verse. So the Muslims wrote to those who remained among them in Mecca regarding this verse. They then set out to migrate, but when they were partway on the road, the polytheists discovered them and their departure, caught up with them, and brought them back, so they returned with them. Then this verse was revealed: "And of the people are some who say, 'We believe in Allah,' but when they are harmed for the sake of Allah, they consider the trial of the people as the punishment of Allah" [Al-Ankabut: 10]. The Muslims wrote to them regarding that, and they were grieved. Then this verse was revealed: "Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been persecuted and then fought and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful" [An-Nahl: 110]. So they wrote to them regarding that. I said: Al-Bukhari recorded part of it.
